Key Legislative Sessions to Watch

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives will be in session from Monday, July 14 to Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Key bills scheduled for second and third consideration include HB 97 on pet custody in divorce cases, HB 441 on protecting native species, and HB 1108 on amendments to copayments for subsidized child care. Other significant bills such as HB 564, establishing a public education campaign for the 988 suicide and crisis lifeline, and HB 938, which expands the Public School Code's Board of Governors to include union representatives, will also be discussed.

Important Committee Meetings and Agendas

Several important committee meetings are scheduled this week. The House Appropriations Committee will meet on Monday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 16 to discuss various agendas. On Tuesday, July 15, the House Game & Fisheries Committee will consider SB 800, which amends Title 30 related to the establishment and use of Fish and Boat Funds. Also on Tuesday, the House Children & Youth Committee will consider resolutions such as HR 211, recognizing National Midwifery Week, and HR 256, designating September 2025 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

On Monday, July 14 at 3:00 PM, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) will kick off the 2025 Urban Agriculture Tour, highlighting investments in innovation, equity, and opportunity in urban communities.
